Foundation Roundup Round 2

There's no such thing as a perfect foundation so the search continues.

1. Maybelline Fit Me Dewy $8
Love this! Easy quick application with a dewy long lasting finish. It's a very wet formula that blends easily. It's the perfect summer foundation. I use L'Oréal Lumi mixed with NYX Cosmetics Pore Filler to prime.

2. Clinque Cubby in the Nude Stick $24
Application is a little tricky, lots of blending is necessary. It's medium coverage and lasted about 6-8 hours. It has a nice silky finish. I use Lancome La Base Pro Perfecting Primer and it glides on smoothly. Fun fact hemroid gel is a great cheap alternative primer.

3. Rainforest of the Sea $39
Long lasting, full coverage but it takes a good bit of product and a finishing powder. This foundation holds up very well to HD photography. The colors are great too, lots of good options. I use NYX Cosmetics Pore Filler to prime and Tarte Smooth Operator to set.

4. L'Oréal True Match Lumi Foundation $13
This has a nice finish and lasts much longer then the cushion formula. It has a natural shine to it that I really like. It requires a lot of products though to fully cover.  But the finished product is natural and luminous. I use L'Oréal Lumi to prime.

Easy Purple Eyeshadow

Recently someone asked me how could they break out of their routine without going too crazy. Purple eyeshadow is the way to go. It's flattering on anyone and this look is very simple.

I used NYX Cosmetics Purple Smokey Look Kit (but try this pallet from Maybelline), 3 brushes, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Maybelline Ultra Liner, Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Statement Mascara, and e.l.f. Cosmetics Treat and Tame on my brows.

Start with a light shade of purple, I used the top right shade. Apply all over your eye lid.

Next add a dark shade, I used the bottom middle, to the inner and outer edges of your eye lid.

Finally add a medium shade, I used the right middle, on your crease. Then take your blending brush and throughly blend it through.

Line your eyes with a black or brown eyeliner. If you want to do a wing here's how.

For your eyelashes if you want real volume start with  primer and then let it dry before applying your mascara.

Then layer on your favorite mascara. Let it dry between coats.

It's really simple but pretty look anyone can do! Good luck.

Classic Beauty 10 Minute Look

This is a look I used to wear almost every day. It's simple and works with any outfit.

1. Moisturize as normal.

2. Use a fat liner like Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-1 Felt Tip Liner. Follow the steps below for the perfect wing.

3. Use a clean simple mascara like Tarte Clay Smart Mascara. I also used Lancome Cils Booster Mascara Base.

4. Use a pore filling primer like NYX Cosmetics Pore Filler. You can't decrease the size of your pores and be weary of any product that claims to do that (your pores size is 100% genetic) but you can reduce the appearance.

5. Use a matte foundation such as Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Foundation. Blend well!

6. Do a quick contour and blush with a cream duo like e.l.f. Cream Contouring Blush & Bronzer Duo. Use a stipple brush like this on from e.l.f. to apply cream blush.

7. Add highlighter just above your cheekbones. I used L'Oréal Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in Rose.

8. Seal the look and soften it by using a finishing powder such as Make Up Forever HD MicroFininsh Poweder.

9. Finish with a nude gloss like NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee. For a night time look try a red lip.

That's it, the perfect classic beauty look.

Top 10 e.l.f Cosmetics Products

You don't have to spend loads of cash to have great make up. e.l.f. Cosmetics makes some great products that are ridiculously cheap and you should give them a try. Here's my top 10.

1. Brown Treat & Tame $3
This is the best way to quickly give your eyebrows a more fuller polished look. Unfortunately it's sold out (because it's so awesome) however e.l.f. is very good at getting products back in stock quickly and you can buy it at Target.

2. Cover Everything Concealer $2
I use this every single day. It is my favorite concelor and is perfect over a green or orange color corrector. It's creamy and blends beautifully.

3. Flawless Finish Foundation $6
This is my favorite cheap foundation with a very polished look. It takes some time to blend properly but with a finishing powder on top it will look as good as the $40 stuff.

4. Ultimate Blending Brush $6
I use this brush to apply and blend all my foundation with I then follow it up with a blending sponge. It picks up liquid beautifully and blends it just as well.

5. Beautifully Bare Blending Brush $6
This is my favorite Highlighter Brush. It creates the perfect stroke above your cheekbones and your nose. It's a little clumsy on above your lip but you can use an eye shadow brush for that.

6. Baked Highlighter $3
I love this highlight in Moonlight Pearls. It's the perfect color and has the right amount of shine that lasts all day.

7. Smudge Pot Cream Eye Shadow $3
If you need a quick smudge of color on your eyes this is the way to go. I use it in my Bronzed 10 Minute Look. If you have long nails this is tricky to use because it's best applied with your index finger.

8. Mineral Pearls $8
Comparative products are very expensive elsewhere so I highly recommend giving these a try for a nice finishing powder. You have a choice between natural and skin balancing. If you have splotchy skin go for the latter but otherwise I find the natural gives you the perfect glow. It comes with a less than great powder puff. I use a large powder brush.

9. Contouring Blush & Bronzer Duo $4
The St. Lucia is my favorite color combo. The colors are strong and you only need a little blended well. It's a great dupe of the NARS duo for $42.

10. Tone Adjusting Face Primer $6
When I'm Red I use this primer to adjust my skin tone. It's extremely effective. It works great with the Flawless Finish Foundation. If you have problems with yellow tones try out the purple.

All together trying all 10 will cost you less than  $50. Not everything e.l.f. makes holds up to the more expensive brands but these 10 are solid buys. Enjoy!
