Fun & Flirty 5 minute look

Sometimes you only have 5 minutes to do your makeup. Here is my go to fun & flirty 5 minute look and the details.

1. Moisturize as you normally would.

2. Use a fat liner in purple. They go on quickly and don't need a lot of precision. I used Flower That's So Khol in tell me no lilac. It's creamy and glides right on. I can't tell you how many compliments I get when I use purple eyeliner. It just pops.

3. My every day mascara is Benefit They're Real! It's natural looking but with enough length to make them stand out. Side note: given a choice I shop at Sephora because the point perks are better but sometimes Ulta has bonus samples that make it worth buying there.

4. With your fingers apply bb or cc cream
My favorite is L'Oréal Magic Skin Beautifier in light. I use this so often I have an Amazon subscription. You can but it at Ulta or any drugstore however this color is extremely popular and sells out often. I like this brand because because the tone adjusts to your skin color. It comes out white but blends when you rub it in. I tan a lot in the summer (my dad is Filipino) but I can use this shade year round. It's very lightweight and evens out your complexion.

5. Next I do an uber quick contour with a NYX Wonder Stick in medium check out the photos for how I do this quick contour. I blend the light with the side of the sponge and the dark with the bottom. Try out the Real Techniques Complexion Sponge.

6. Time for bronzer and blush. I used Nars blush/bronzer in orgasim/laguna (generally considered to be the best blush on the market for all skin types and tones but it's pricey $42. There's an e.l.f. dupe but be careful that bronzer is harsh.) Brush the bronzer under your cheekbones with an angled brush like the e.l.f. angled blush brush and then smile and brush the blush on the apples of your cheeks.

7. Finish with a quick gloss like NYX Butter Gloss in raspberry tart. This is my favorite brand of lip gloss it has a nice shine, has a moisturizing buttery feel and comes in loads of shades. The applicator is perfect for quick and accurate application.

Viola! You're done in 5 minutes. Try it out and tell me how it goes.

Foundation Roundup

I've got 4 different foundations I'm using right now and here's a little round up. Each has a different feel, look, longevity in a range of prices. Unfortunately blogger doesn't publish full resolution photos so you will only be able to see subtly differences in my photos. For better images check out @pinkhairfloosie on instagram.

Tarte Hybrid Gel light-medium beige:
This is a new purchase and I like the finish. It has a natural glow to is and a dewy finish. I looked like I just came from the beach. As a primer I mixed Benefit Porefessional Primer with L'Oréal Lumi in ice for a little extra shine. It lasts well for most of the day and lends well to the natural shine that will take over at the end of the day. You really need the right tools to get this blended properly but the good news is they're cheap. I use an e.l.f. blending brush and blending sponge $11 total! It feels wet but light. Unfortunately this rich gel formula is the most expensive at $39. Don't fret, the others don't even come close to that price tag.

Maybelline Dream Velvet in sandy beige:
Interestingly while the dewy finish is hot right now so is the matte look. This goes on beautifully with the same tools and is only $11. You must blend blend blend or you'll look like a clown. But when done right this will give you a perfect sophisticated flawless finish. It has a soft creamy feel. I use L'Oréal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base which has a very strange sticky texture and should never be used with a very wet foundation like the HD or gel.

e.l.f. Flawless Finish in buff:
Unfortunately this color is out of stock but give them 6 weeks it'll be worth the weight because it's $6!!! It won't last 12 hours but you'll get a solid 6 of a natural beautiful finish that is much easier to apply without error. Because it blends so well it feels weightless. I use e.l.f. Mineral Infused Primer (if you have red or blotchy skin buy the green, yellow or sallow skin buy lavender).

NYX HD Foundation in natural:
This one is very technical and $18. HD formulas absorb light to give a polished finish in photographs. They are heavy and wet and not really for everyday use. I use my fingers not a brush and then blend with a sponge dipped in NYX Honey Dew Me Up (I use this technique with the wet  tarte gel as well). I prime with NYX HD Primer which has terrible reviews but that's because it's difficult to use properly, all HD formulas are. It's stark white and if it's not blended perfectly you're in trouble. Frankly unless you're experienced I don't recommend using HD prouducts. It feels wet and heavy. Unfortunately my picture isn't really showing what this product (sorry I'll work on this problem).

That's todays round up. Do you have a foundation you love? Comment and tell me all about it.

Morning Regimen

OK I know this looks like a lot but it all
serves a purpose and my skin is super sensitive, combination and I'm at that weird age where I get zits and wrinkles. I also wear a lot of makeup so I have to protect my skin. Here are the details:

1. #garnier Micellar Cleaning Water, #simple & #bioderma also make a good version. I avoid using soap on my face whenever possible. It dries my skin out.

2. I'm not married to any one brand but I use a glycolic acid & salicylic acid wipe to exfoliate and kill acne causing bacteria.

3. #yestograpefruit toning mist with vitamin C works magic on my pores and hydrates my skin from any stress from the acid wipe.

4. #lumene bright now vitamin c hyaluronic acid serum. Helps brighten and tighten my skin and lays down a good base for moisturizer.

5. #instanatural youth express eye gel. The areas around my eyes are deeply sensitive but are unbothered by this gel. It has peptides to help with dark circles and plant stem cells to help with fine lines.

6. #peterthomasroth max sheer all day moisture defense lotion with spf 30. I don't care how young you are or how well you tan you need to wear sunscreen on your face if you want to stay looking young.

7. #loreal age perfect glow renewal has a great blend of essential oils to nourish the skin. Always do the oil last. Oil can penetrate the moisturizer but not the other way around.

You can buy 90% of this at #ultabeauty #amazon or #cvs for about $100 and it lasts months. You don't need to break the bank to stay beautiful! #foreveryoung
