Mommy and Me Green Ponchos

Scarlett and I love a good matching outfit and Forever 21 just delivered big time. These green poncho sweaters are perfect for cool fall days. We wore them to a fun dinner with our besties last weekend and I think we looked just fab! We put these outfits together so I can't claim all the credit. Here are the details on both our looks.

Shop my look...

I like the dark olive color a little better and I bought it in a s/m and it's still pretty big. It's really soft and not too heavy.

This is soft and longer in the back then the front which I love.

Love the look and feel of these jeans. They fit like a glove.

These are the softest jeans and a little more affordable.

Mine are from last season but these are very similar.

I really believe every girl needs a a vintage coach saddle or crossbody bag. You can find them in all shapes and sizes on ETSY. The pompom key chains on both our bags came from the $3 bin at Target but you can get them on eBay.

My necklace was $5 from Walmart (they don't sell them online) I always check over there they have some really cute stuff. This one from Forever 21 is pretty similar.

I love this ring it's comfortable on my arthritic hands. It came from my rocksbox (which is basically netfilx for jewelry) but I used my discount and bought it I liked it so much. Get a free month with this code: amandabbff1130.

Alice made this cuff custom for a wedding. Check out her ETSY page her stuff is fabulous! By the way Scarlett's bag was also made

Shop Scarlett's look...

Her sweater was more sage then olive but it's really cute. She pulled the single thread holding the arm holes together so now it's more shawl like however it still looks the same (p.s. by the end of the night so did I I could easily repair it but I'm struggling to see why). The kids version has a button as well. Scarlett's is a 7/8 she's 46" tall.

This is so cute we were sharing it till she popped off an eye (which I "fixed" with a sharpie) and now it's hers. It was the perfect accessory for this look.

I bought these at the Anniversary Sale and she loves them. They are so comfortable and the 7 fit her very well.

Not prepared to spend $60 on jeans your child will grow out of in a few months? Neither am I. Here's a pair from Target for considerably less.

I also got these during the sale and she adores them but they're not awesome for the walk to the bus stop. I couldn't really find anything similar for a lot less but Zuilly always has fun girls shoes.

Alice made this bag for her little girl and Scarlett fell in love and Ella gave it to her. She adores it! Someday I'll explain to Scarlett that Ella took this bag to Carnegie Hall to hear her dad sing. Scarlett takes it everywhere.

Here are a few snapshots from dinner.

Sophisticated Huterboots Look

Last Thursday it was raining cats and dogs but I had multiple appointments I wanted to look a little more sophisticated then my usual leggings and and rain boots look. Here was my solution to this problem and I got loads of compliments. Side note, you can now click on the images to get directly to the product. I'm working on making my blog as user friendly as possible. I'd love to have your feedback.

Shop this look...

When I was a stock broker I bought almost all my suits at Benetton. I love the way they are cut and the quality of fabrics. I bought this blazer a size down so it has a more tapered fit but it doesn't close all the way.

JC Penny is a great place to buy cheap dress wear. This jacket has a similar look at lower price tag.

These jeans are great for boots. The rips are above the knee and they aren't so holy as to be cold in the cooler weather.

These are so comfortable and the price is a little more friendly.

My scarf was from New York and Company and they still have it in stores but it's sold out online. This one is really similar and mega on sale.

These are still on sale for $90 (40% off) and are a great investment.

Here's a similar look for half the cash.

This bag is everything.

This necklace came from my Rocksbox, which is basically Netflix for jewelry. Ger a free trial with this code: amandabbff1130.

My bracelet was my mothers and I love it's elegance and the thickness. Here is a similar silver bracelet from a company I love.

Here's a similar look for a much lower price tag.

I'm so excited this ring is back! It's so versatile.

DIY Fixing Broken Powder

I've seen this on Pintrest for the last few years and I admit I got excited when I dropped a powder I like so I could try it out. I wouldn't say it was good as new but it works pretty well. Here's how to do it step by step.

Here's the broken compact. It's Physician's Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil Face Powder $13.99 which I use to soften and enhance BB creams. It's a silky formula and feels good on. It was in my clutch during a bachlorette party and looked like this at the end of the night. So sad : (

Here's what you need to fix it: plastic wrap, a plastic knife, and rubbing alcohol (Pintrest wanted me to use 70% but all I had was 90% and it seemed to work fine).

Put the plastic wrap over the compact and seal it so no powder can get out.

Use the end of the knife to break up the powder into a million tiny pieces.

Remove the plastic wrap and it will look like this (but it probably could have been broken up more and been easier to work with).

Next your going to pour the rubbing alcohol on the powder. Note how I have punctured holes in the foil so only a little comes out at a time. An eye dropper would work too.

Pour small amounts in until it's all covered but not drenched.

Use the blunt side of the knife to smooth down the powder. A small spatula would work too.

Here's what it looks like when it is all smoothed out.

I let it dry for 24 hours before I messed with it. Had I broken it up more it would have been smoother but it worked perfectly well. My brush picked up the powder very well. It's not as smooth as it was before but it's still completely usable.

Here's my make up done with the fixed powder on.

Lula Roe Cassie? Yes please!

I was so afraid for so long the Cassie was not going to be flattering on my post baby body. I spend 5 days a week in the gym but some things like my thighs and my tummy just are never going back. Any who I was wrong! This skirt is amazing! I felt and looked like a million bucks. I was also afraid it was too dressy for my lifestyle but it's really easy to dress down. Get one from Olivia Fink's Facebook Group. Here's two ways I wore it and notice the different lengths you can adjust it to.

Shop these looks...

The Sophisticated Look:

Old Navy Tee $8-16
This tee is so soft and a very flattering cut. It's cheaper in stores then online.

Charlotte Russe Open Toe Mesh Booties $39
These are super cute but this style pinches your toes a bit.

If you want to invest these are pretty comfy.

This is truly a fantastic bag. Elegant and fits all my stuff.

Stella Dot Cluster Bracelet $59
I get a lot of wear out of this bracelet. You can find a bunch of knock offs and used ones of eBay.

This is the current TB cuff. Mine is a few years old but I really love it. It has an elegance to it that spruces up any outfit.

This is a very similar look at a fraction of the price.

I'm a huge fan of cheap eBay jewelry and this is a bold piece for only a few bucks that I get loads of compliments on.

I love these sunglasses. They fit perfectly, match most looks and they are really sturdy.

BP Sunnies $12
I have these too and they are great for the price tag.

The Causal Look:

This is on sale right now!

You can't beat the price on these.

I love that a sleek white sneaker is a trend right now. These are super comfy.

Don't want to spring for the real deal? No problem Target makes a cheaper pair.

This necklace came from my Rocksbox which is basically netflix for jewelry. You get three pieces a month and you can keep them as long as you want or wear them and send them back for new ones. You also get a discount if you want to buy one of he pieces. Get a free month trial with this code: amandabbff1130.

I have them in all 3 colors.

I have a minor addiction to these totes. They are so durable and fit everything.

I spotted these the other day in the store and I got really excited. Same style for a lot less! They have a lot more colors in the store.

P.S. Olivia's full inventory is online right now and she's got some cute Cassies for sale!
